Pink Pigeon Rum. The next cool drink to be seen around campus in a year?
“Steed Lord is a musical performance art project from Iceland working on the frontiers of pure creativity and music-making with impressive and energetic live performances, experimental filmmaking, photography, fashion design and styling, art direction, graphic design and other visual media.
The threesome, KALI, MEGA and DEMO, all hail from Iceland where they grew up in the entertainment and art world, learning their craft at an early age in their fathers’ studios.
Drawing their raw inspiration from their Icelandic background, they have managed to create a world of their own that they call New Crack City where they create their art and write their music.
Steed Lord have since early 2006 been a 100% DIY project, and toured all over the world with their music, performing for thousands of fans and being featured by numerous magazines, music and fashion blogs, TV shows and radio. They even designed a clothing line for retail giant H&M.”
It might be kind of an old song, but I never watched the music video until recently. And what do I see? The []_[]!
After doing some research, I decided to write my paper on the “got milk?” campaign. The idea that drinking milk has been made into a cool advertisement that you see everywhere is just amazing. From athletes to music artists, got milk? targets every interest. Got milk? has even led to spoof t-shirts that say things like “Got Jesus?” in the familiar font of the got milk? ads. Who knew milk could be so cool?
This was Victoria’s Secret 2008 Super Bowl commercial. It is definitely selling more than lingerie. It’s selling the idea that the men completely wrapped around the stupid football game should realize that the game is going to end, so they better pay attention to their wives/girlfriends. Seeing as most women get ignored during any sports game, especially football, I thought this commercial got through to those men staring at the TV screen. Hopefully, more women received the attention they deserved after the game was over. It was also very smart of the advertiser to take a completely different approach than most Super Bowl commercials. It has slow, older music and the person in the commercial doesn’t even say anything. Instead of appealing to the funny side of Super Bowl commercials, this commercial made you stop and actually watch. I’m sure that the gorgeous half naked woman on screen also helped.
This was an email I recieved today… titled “Classic and undeniably cool…”
It reminds me more of every high school/college guy… which isn’t cool.
After sitting in class, trying to calculate what our own cool costs, I realized how much money I waste on “cool” items. My room is filled with coach bags, designer shoes, and Tiffany Co. jewelry. I pay for Starbucks coffee multiple times a week, when I could easily make my own coffee in my room. My family has six cars and a motorcycle, all of which are “cool” items. I pay so much for the U tuition. I have a Mac and iPhone, and the iPhone bill each month is close to a hundred dollars. I have nine piercings and a tattoo; those alone cost me close to a thousand dollars.
If I could have any car I would want a Jeep Wrangler. I have wanted one since I was younger, but sadly didn’t get one as my first car.
The shoes I always wear are Coach shoes, Tommy Hilfiger flip-flops and converse.
A completely turn-off for me would be Ed Hardy shirts or Crocs.
Who am I dressing to be? I would say I dress to be like any normal, young girl. One person that I love the style of would be Blake Lively. She is laid back, but still looks gorgeous and cool all the time.
